Our pregnancy tests are of medical quality, highly sensitive, and deliver immediate results. A positive pregnancy test, even one taken at home, indicates a strong likelihood of pregnancy. However, it is important to confirm the result.

When to Take a Pregnancy Test

If you’re uncertain whether you need to take a test or if you’re unsure about the signs to watch for, you’re not alone. Early pregnancy symptoms can be subtle and easily misunderstood. It’s a good idea to schedule a pregnancy test if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Missed period.
  • Unexpected changes in your body, such as soreness, headaches, fatigue, breast sensitivity, nausea, or vomiting.
  • Unexplained mood changes, such as irritability, mood swings, food cravings, or aversions.

Pregnancy Test Confirmation

If you’ve received a positive pregnancy test result at our clinic, it’s time to take a closer look at your pregnancy. Your next step is a no-cost limited OB ultrasound to confirm the viability of pregnancy.

WHY DO I NEED AN ULTRASOUND?

An ultrasound serves a dual purpose: confirming your pregnancy and providing additional essential information. Regardless of the pregnancy options you are considering, an ultrasound will empower you to make an informed choice. Here are three key reasons why an ultrasound is necessary:

  • 1. To determine if there is a heartbeat:

A viable pregnancy is one in which a heartbeat is detected, indicating that you haven’t experienced a miscarriage. If the pregnancy isn’t viable, your body will likely naturally expel it. In such cases, we recommend seeing your healthcare provider.

  • 2. To date the pregnancy:

Understanding the gestational age of your pregnancy—how many weeks you’ve been pregnant—is crucial. This information determines the method if you are considering abortion and provides the estimated due date.

  • 3. To locate your pregnancy:

Some pregnancies develop outside of the uterus, a condition known as an ectopic pregnancy. An ultrasound will reveal the pregnancy’s location, confirming whether it is in the uterus or not. An ectopic pregnancy can be life-threatening and requires immediate medical attention.
